Helping the next generation of Sri Lankan professionals build their digital identity from day one
Recently, the myPage team had the pleasure of visiting NSBM University to introduce myPage to its students 17th of August 2026. The goal was simple: show young people how a single, well-built online profile can open doors long before their careers officially begin.
Why a digital profile matters for students
Today, a student’s first impression is rarely a printed CV. Recruiters, internship coordinators, lecturers and industry contacts search online before they ever meet someone. Yet most students have no single place where their story is presented clearly.
myPage solves this. It gives every student:
- One link for everything. Skills, projects, education, achievements, and contact details live on one clean, professional page, with no need to send multiple attachments.
- A strong first impression. A polished profile shows initiative and professionalism, even before you have work experience.
- Always up to date. A new certificate, project, or internship can be added in minutes, so your profile grows with you.
- A local platform built for Sri Lankans. myPage is designed for Sri Lankan professionals and businesses, with a
.lkidentity that feels familiar and trustworthy. - A head start. Students who build their presence early graduate with a ready-made professional profile, while others are still figuring out where to begin.
Building a profile, step by step
Rather than only talking about the platform, we wanted students to leave with something real. During the session, we guided them through creating their own myPage profile, live:
- Creating an account. Students signed up and set up their personal page.
- Adding the basics. Name, photo, a short bio, and a headline that says who they are and what they study.
- Showcasing education and skills. Degree programme, key skills, and areas of interest.
- Highlighting projects and achievements. University projects, competitions, certifications, and volunteering, the things that set a student apart.
- Adding contact and social links. LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio, and email, so opportunities can reach them easily.
- Previewing and publishing. Students reviewed their page, made final tweaks, and went live with a shareable link.
By the end, every participant had a working profile they could use right away on CVs, email signatures, and job applications.
The response
The enthusiasm in the room was the best part. Students asked thoughtful questions, helped each other along the way, and many were surprised at how quickly a professional-looking page came together.
Looking ahead
This session is part of our mission to help Sri Lankan students and professionals present themselves with confidence in a digital-first world. We are grateful to NSBM University and its students for the warm welcome, and we look forward to supporting more universities and young professionals.
